How Oyster Nutrient Credits Are Done

An oyster nutrient-credit workflow starts with a real deployment and ends with a verified record. The credit is not the oyster itself. The credit is the governed claim that a measured deployment produced a defined remediation outcome under stated assumptions and evidence.

Workflow

  1. Register the operator, site, waterbody, and project purpose.
  2. Record species, count, source, deployment method, and target waterbody.
  3. Capture baseline conditions such as salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, pH, and site notes.
  4. Monitor survival, growth, water quality, and field observations.
  5. Apply the approved calculation method for nitrogen, phosphorus, particulates, or related remediation metrics.
  6. Attach photos, field notes, sensor files, lab records, inspection records, and third-party review where required.
  7. Submit for VRP review and Enforcer gate status.

Plain-language rule: if the system cannot show the deployment, method, evidence, reviewer, and gate state, it should not present the result as a verified nutrient credit.

Governance boundary: this page is educational only. It is not a regulatory approval, not production credit issuance, and not production GO.
